When I retired last May, I started organizing my home office. I found folders and folders of writing I have done over the years, mostly to read to my students. Much of it came from school happenings, amusing mishaps, or touching events from years of teaching. Some I had completely forgotten writing. Some is so bad I probably need to forget I ever wrote it. However, I found some from many years ago that surprised me. So, as I weather the COVID storm, I am going through my files and organizing. I am also trying to write a little each day on the sequel to my book, as well as editing some of the writing I have rediscovered. I intend to make the most of this day, this precious peaceful, secluded time that has landed in our laps.
The moments tic, and tic, and tic
like slowing dripping water,
and so I drown myself in words
and it is tomorrow.
