Introduction
In September of 2015, the Pound Family had a reunion in Van Buren, Arkansas. It was the first time I had seen many of my cousins in a long, long time. We had such a good time telling childhood stories, especially about our adventures on our grandparents’ farm at Mountain Grove, Arkansas. My mother, brother, sister, and I lived with my grandparents. Every summer our cousins would come to visit, and many stayed for part or most of the summer. It was a wonderful time and full of all kinds of escapades. Someone asked me if I had ever thought about writing down all the things that happened and the many memories we shared before we all got too old to remember. I had thought about it, but had never had or taken the time. I was also dubious of my ability to make the stories interesting enough that anyone would want to spend the time reading them. In the end, I was convinced to try. I can only write what I remember, which is, of course, from a child’s perspective and a sixty plus memory. However, I began to write and was amazed at all the memories that surfaced. I have endeavored to write just as the thoughts flowed through my mind. I hope you will enjoy this trip down memory lane as much as I have enjoyed remembering and writing it down.
